Works in stock Septimus Edwin Scott, ROI, RI (1879-1966), was a well known painter mainly in oil of landscapes, beach scenes and figure subjects, and he was also a successful poster designer and illustrator. He was born in Sunderland, and studied art locally and then at the Royal College of Art in London. Scott exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy from 1900 to 1952 and he was elected an associate of the Royal Society of British Artists 1919 and a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters circa 1920. He lived in London for many years and settled in Montpelier Road, Brighton in the 1940s and lived there up until his death. In 1948 Sep Scott was elected a member of the Brighton Arts Club. His work is represented in several public collections including the National Railway Museum and the National Football Museum.
