Evelyn Abelson, RBA, SWA (1886-1967) was a
painter of town scenes, especially views of London,
although she also worked extensively in Western Europe.
She was born in London and studied at Campden Hill
School and Heatherley's School of Fine Art. She
exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1933 and at the New
English Art Club, Society of Women Artists (elected a
member in 1939), National Society of Painters and
Gravers, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and the Royal
Society of British Artists of which latter society she
was elected a member. Her work is represented in the
Government Art Collection. She lived in London W2.
