Works in stock (newest at bottom) Edna Ginesi, LG (1902-2000) was a well known painter of figure and landscape subjects in oil. Born in Leeds, she studied at Leeds College of Art and the Royal College of Art 1920-24. After winning a Travelling Scholarship she visited Holland, Belgium, France and Italy. In 1926 she married the painter Raymond Coxon (1896-1997). Edna Ginesi exhibited with the London Group from 1929, becoming a member in 1933, and at the Royal Academy from 1953-75. Her first solo show was held in 1932 at the Zwemmer Gallery in London and other exhibitions followed with the Leicester Galleries and Cooling Galleries. Ginesi also exhibited in America and travelled there for a time. A retrospective was held at Bradford Art Gallery in 1956. Her work is represented in a number of public collections including The Tate Gallery, Bradford Museums & Galleries, The Hepworth Wakefield, Leeds Museums & Galleries and Manchester City Galleries. She lived in Hammersmith, west London for many years and had a studio at Rowfant in West Sussex.
