Works in stock Clifford Hall, ROI, NS (1904-1973) was a painter mainly of town and coastal scenes, figure subjects, and portraits usually in oils. He was born in London and studied at Richmond School of Art, Putney School of Art, the Royal Academy Schools 1925-28 and in Paris in 1928 under Andre L'Hote. He exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy from 1930, the New English Art Club, London Group, Royal Society of British Artists, Paris Salon, and with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters of which society he became a member. In 1946 he held the first of many one man shows with Roland Browse & Delbanco in London. Clifford Hall's work is held in many public collections including The Imperial War Museum and The Victoria & Albert Museum. He delighted in painting the streets of his native Chelsea.
